What Is Digital Ministry?
Monday, January 28, 2013
As I've networked with other ministries, business professionals, even meeting with our staff in the field, one of the most common questions I get is, "What do you guys do?"
To put it simply, Digital Ministry serves our staff and acts as staff where none are present - all to advance the FCA vision.
We are a small team of "digital natives" who have grown up in the digital age and want to leverage this powerful medium to see the world impacted for Jesus through athletes and coaches. No matter the time or place - if an internet connection exists...we are there.
We serve over 1,000 staff by equipping them to do more ministry and do it better. From a local area website, to how to use social media, to online giving, online events, FCAResources.com, FCACampus101.com or r12Coach.com - everything is designed to serve what our staff do everyday. In the areas of digital where we have expertise, we can do the work staff cannot. Reaching the world with resources, online tools and sharing the FCA story from a national/global perspective are in our wheelhouse.
In local areas where staff aren't present; athletes, coaches and volunteers have anytime access to resources on how to do ministry and are given the tools to go do it. Ensuring our volunteers are equipped strengthens local ministry and primes it for rapid growth. Relying on peer-to-peer ministry is a vital strategy for FCA because of the millions of athletes, coaches and volunteers.
The Digital Ministry team is constantly evaluating the ever-changing landscape of all things digital. We are privileged to be able to serve our staff and help accomplish the great vision God has given FCA for over 50 years.
